Basically he's forcing himself to hate her because loving her would be betraying his brother. It's just like with the cakes in volume 2 chapter 3; he forced himself by saying he hates strawberry cake when he actually loves it, just so Beniko and Sora could have the only two. He's basically giving up his own happiness for the ones he loves the most.
