I know this is weird but I feel and think as though I have read this manga before, and am not talking about the novel. The weirdest part is, in my memory the mental picture I see is that I read it on this site plus there were more chapters than the current ones.
I don't know if anyone has ever encountered that version. if not, I guess am experiencing the phenomenon known as Mandela effect.
The author must have done a some research on the topic on who to cast as the foreign protagonist because there are few things that clued me in. One was when they talked about the movie that luca saw with his friend, if you really did not search about maybe the LGBTQ rights in kenya I doubt that movie would have come about.( Btw it is called Rafiki for anyone who is curious about it) Two it was about the circumcision. This is a rite of passage for the maasai people for them it ushers one to adulthood. So they celebrate it every 10 years so this is a big thing for them.
I know there are a couple of misses and hits in how the author portrays the maasai dude. But one that bothers me a lot is Luca's hair, if both of his parents are indigenous black africans the texture of hair presented is eurocentric. I have no problem with his eurocentric facial features that is something an african can posses but the hair is hard to get a pass from. Other than that, all the other misses are so minor that they need no mention.
Overall I would rate it a 8 out of 10, with the hair part carrying a chunk f it. It is a good read I would encourage anyone to read it, it is warm and heartfelt.
i did not realise i would find an hidden gem here but this read gave me a nice surprise. it is rather a long read so do not let the 15 chapters fool you. this comic is well thought out, the pacing is methodological and the main characters are given room to grow. the themes are well explored. it is just that the ending for be was bit of a et down, it was too rushed and did not tie up loose ends so we are left with a lot of questions

Yeah nope, it's giving weird vibes.i know it's about an apocalypse and there's a system that requires rage bait as points but that rage bait is weirdly concentrated on the female characters only. Am not saying that the protagonist be helpful to everyone hell am not against him creating an harem or being psychotic to everyone but....
