before the life she become inoaden's head, all those lives we see her eyes filled with hope and gentle touch, but now her eyes look exhausted and she has a cold gaze just lingering there. (she's been through too much)
so first off why the duchy hates Penelope, Yvonne the biological daughter of the ekharts, put a spell on the duchy to make every there hate Penelope, Yvonne actually hates Penelope a lot, and Penelope went through hell because of yvonne. so after Yvonne ends up with prince kallisto the empire goes into ruins and Vinter turns back time to fix everything BUT he doesn't remember what he is supposed to fix and the same fate keeps happening and he just repeats everything until Penelope's poor tormented, exhausted soul dies from her repeating the same horrible life and fate thats why the main character we see now her soul was Brought in the game to fix everything. SO the real Penelope was never evil, Yvonne just had all the right cards at the right time. this made me cry

but thats also the confusing part, when Vinter turned back time wouldn't other people souls be repeating too? Like Derek and Reynold's soul. I think it's the back Penelope's soul was just really worn out from living just miserable lives so many times (of course she doesn't know she was repeating her live her, soul was warn out subconsciously)
i think it has to do with her dying so many times against yvonne and repeating it many times resulted in that
I feel like if the twins had more characteristics as their biological mom the entire story would be different, I think the emperor would resent the twins the brothers and the servants would resent the twins more. Is it just me?
I do agree. I remember in the beginning as well the emperor said he only couldn’t bring himself to kill them because they have the golden hair. (Obviously he couldn’t but that was why he wouldn’t have even if there wasn’t the curse)
