Typical exemple of what a poor translation can do to a story. It's very complicated to understand this properly. We get the big picture but we are missing a lot of details that are important. It's hard to even sympathise with the characters. Such a shame, I am droping this.
The length of the knife, oh my god ! Dan didn't even got the time to react or even see it... Why authors always have to add drama and make things horrible ? We were good without this kind of scene. They didn't need this to boost or help their relationship, neither do us to keep on reading...
