Compton reminds me of the oldest child/ daughter of an household. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s the oldest amongst them but also was Heejae first student. Something I noticed is that almost all of them inherited a habit resembling Heejae, Gaham with that one angry outburst, Walter with his lack of personal space and the outburst he had, Choi with her total indifference ; and Compton resembling him the most. It’s like being your parents’ first time parenting. You truly get the worst version of them.
I think even with his hatred and resentment, a part of him still wants Heejae approval. Especially since Heejae doesn’t think of him as someone worth wasting his breath on, not even as a failure cause he quit the piano and I think that plays in part with his need to get Gaham to hate him this much. As much as he tries to deny it, it’s so obvious that Heejae is a lot softer than he used to be, and that rots him from the inside out. I don’t really know how to explain it, but that’s the feeling that he gave me ever since he was introduced. He will always be his father’s oldest daughter
