Well looking at the raws it definitely doesn’t look like he is using Eugene for something. He’s also realizing it himself that he cares more about Eugene than he thought. He’s also discovering what’s going on with Eugene (something that was recent in the laziest chapters) and taking care of him. Last I checked some didn’t need Eugene for anything. There’s plenty of other vampires to hunt and he doesn’t even know what’s the deal between him and the master. I think dom wanted to just have fun and play along to see what Eugene was planning. Since it’s Eugene that had more of the benefits in their arrangement.
