I think Because she feel responsible for him,since at first she thought that she indeed write the novel thus she feel guilty of his situation she put him in the story

I think he will be relevant to her plans,she wanna leave the duchy in the future, and she is still thinking that she might get killed in the future by yustav that is why she was trying so hard to gain more people in her side. This is just my speculations,so i’m not really sure
I think she’s just trying to save him before he has to deal with all the misfortunes like loosing his sister. She said that she still has a soft side for the characters in the novel so she’s prolly just saving him
