Not gonna lie, I have no idea where this plot is even going. 24 chapters deep, and I'm more confused now than when I started. The translation barely helps make sense of the story or the dialogue, to be honest. Where is the MC's family? He had a sister he was taking care of and then just... stopped caring? Then, randomly, there's a 7-year time skip, and we still don't know the power scale of this world. I thought it was normal for everyone to talk to all the "mysteries," but then they explain mages usually only use one element of the mysteries, so that doesn't even track. And the sword masters in this are so underwhelming; they hype them up, but they barely do anything impressive powerscaling-wise. Also, the characters feel weirdly distant from each other, even though the MC supposedly cares so much about them; like the emotional connection just isn't landing. Also, Lucy (the first love interest) is talking about how much she trusts her uncle, and then the next scene, the uncle's just like, "Yeah, I'm gonna marry her off to one of my vassals after this." And nobody addresses that? Like that's a whole conflict of interest they just threw in and dipped. And the whole story was set up like we're supposed to be hunting for an Ice Phoenix, but now suddenly we're in a war? How did that even happen?
And this isn't me saying I hate this; no, I actually like the system they have going. The mysteries are basically like spirits, and you have to keep a good connection with them, but a lot of them conflict with each other, so usually, mages just stick to one to keep their affinity high. But what I do hate is how one-dimensional the characters feel, like it never actually explains how our MC got to where he is or why he does the things he does. He just says yes to stuff, and the story just moves on after that.
I didn’t expect to pause mid-read just to comment. I feel like crying but it won’t come out. The story is too good not to keep going.
My older sister was in a toxic relationship where the guy was basically just using her for money. One time during an argument, she accidentally made his ear bleed and felt so guilty that she stayed with him for a while after that. Luckily, she eventually left him. Funny thing is, I actually met the dude back then, but I couldn’t even tell you what he looked like now.
That’s why the story felt rushed, cramming everything into 200 episodes with deadlines was bound to be a struggle. I’m honestly glad it’s finished, but also a little sad it didn’t get more time to really flesh things out. I started reading it back during COVID, got hooked on those first episodes, and stuck with it all the way. Now it’s complete, and while it feels refreshing, part of me still wishes they’d continue the story with Zack and his crush on Aris. Guess we’ll just have to imagine where it goes from here.
He turns into a kid at the end? Man… that felt like such a strange way to wrap up his story. They really should’ve given more time to the other main characters too—especially with how much he shaped their growth. He started out as this young sage, carrying the weight of the world, teaching them not just skills but deeper truths. He was becoming something more—like a dragon, in spirit, wisdom, and sacrifice. I honestly think it would’ve been more powerful if he had died… choosing to bring evil back into the world for the sake of balance, even if it meant paying the ultimate price. That kind of ending would’ve made his influence hit way harder especially towards the other cast.
I’ve been following this story for a long time, so some details might be a bit hazy—but the ending still felt off to me. Especially with him being old and sick… it just didn’t land the way I hoped it would.
I honestly relate to Woojin, damn people just don't actually think when you try to tell the truth and its so funny. Though depending what is misunderstanding is, it could be good or bad... for me bad.
Though there is some chapters that are messed up. Other than that everything else seems good. Love the story progression and the characters. The comedy is really funny especially Darun-snail, he is clearly the hero of the story.
I really enjoyed Kamen Rider related when I was younger, and even watched Power Rangers. So when I saw the cover I just got really excited to read the manga but... it should really have the ecchi tag. Because I was kinda just here for the action ngl.

I'm surprised, it had such a low rating so I thought it be OK but the story is really making me interested.
I'm am smiling so much after seeing more fights. I feel so bubbly seeing genuine sword fighting. Sure I like the flashy mana sword fights but the use of actual sword techniques and mana feels so good. And it is drawn in such detail that you can see how that blade went where and how it was applied. It's like reading martial art Mangas all over again that was just pure hands.
Yes Cid! That 100% pure untrained Apple Juice is 10x better than alcohol. If I could I would've also asked for apple juice when I attend my culture traditions. But damn it, when I turned 18 there was no escape from the elders （￣へ￣）.
Putting in on "I want to read" list so so worth, it felt so real. Each character having their own unique traits and strengths, and the character development of the side characters are so amazing. From a loner to a husband to a father, this is a story I love. Paced to where I know each single character to the bone... I felt so bubbly reading it.
Even though I mostly read action fantasy stories, I tend to read romance stories once In a while. And though most of them are really bad and yet I still read them. It's lovely, and sad because having such a story end... makes me so sad yet happy.
