I think it takes two reads to understand. Rereading the original can be helpful but Cyril is the child of odellies nephew. He is the sole heir but it seems he didn’t get to be raised correctly due to internal conflict in the kingdom. As we see from the first chapter I believe, he gets poisoned and dies. However like Bianca, he regresses. Except he doesn’t regress in age but just time. He stayed 13 and regresses in that body to the timeline in when he is 5 but also in the land of Arno. So two Cyril’s exist at one time. It’s confusing but there’s still many questions I don’t have answered either. I learn as I read.
