i think he is going back and forth between two dimension you know like time travel.
There is sadly no hint for that either.
If it was just the grey-haired guy suddenly being in bed with him, maybe. But the guy himself talks in ways as if a major chunk of information is missing, without any scenes indicating a timeskip. Which would be stupid anyway since in this specific scenario you cannot just skip all the events of getting raped and living in the palace, apparently running away from the emperor, metting a guy and ask him for a job and end up having sex with him - As a decent author you cannot skip all those events. It's simply bad writing at this point.
