Yes and no. The prince is likely son of current Emperor and it looks like he hot the throne through rebellion. ML must be the son of the previous Emperor and therefore rightful heir. Whether the Prince should die remains to be seen he at the very least deserves slaps and kicks. Don't worry I'm sure he will prove himself to be trash worth killing. Looks like he owns that gambling Den and conspired with her Uncle to usurp her fam and replace her with her cousin (since noone will have a glowy back for him)
