is it not just about what happened a few chapters ago..?? they are going to meet 5 times, if jooheon doesn’t catch feelings, then dohu needs to leave him alone, but if his feelings waver, then dohu will stay in his life

the whole "let's meet a few more times" promise was basically because dohu had to leave and cut ties with juheon.
from juheon's monologues throughout the last few chapters, it's pretty clear he sees dohu as his weakness now. he wants to focus on getting revenge on his family (and probably park gitae too), so he's pushing dohu away to keep him from getting caught up in everything.
