I still don't understand the whole gilsangcheon thing. When Taeui kept insisting to see Jaeui then Jaeui would be kidnapped that day. But when Taeui didn't get to meet him he still got kidnapped?

I think that when Taeui meets Jaeui, he stops him from getting successfully kidnapped. The kidnapping attempt still happens, but Taeui somehow gives good luck to Jaeui, preventing the kidnapping from actually being successful. But on the day Jaeui didn't see Taeui, that's when Jaeui got successfully kidnapped.
