AnY isn't a romance though? It's stated everywhere as an action/adventure manga with a romance subplot.

I get wanting to have more of Hak and Yona, but that would kind of pull away from the point the author is trying to make.

If the author ended the manga with Hak and Yona getting married, people would only talk about their wedding and ask for kids. If the author ended the manga with their wedding and a picture of their kids, they'd ask for extras about their daily lives or their reunion with the dragons and the list goes on.

But the point of this manga isn't their romance or their love for each other, it's about Yona growing as a woman and as a princess with a duty to her kingdom. To end the story with Yona getting married to Hak and having kids would dampen the message the author is trying to convey to their audience. Yona, the spoiled princess who only chased after a boy her entire life finally found her purpose as a ruler over the Kouka kingdom. We shouldn't soil her character development by placing another man where she should shine alone.

That being said, there's supposed to be two more volumes coming out and hopefully there will at least be a few interactions between the two now that the main plotline has finally ended. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Agreed! Yona had grew so much ever since the first chapter/episode. Like, of course we'd expect just from the beginning she would be taking back the throne, but the progression towards that made the last chapter ever more special and impactful.

The point was not to see the marriage r kids ,point was to cater the to the characters

Showing romance will not take her shine away lol
Its just like saying one person cannot shine and develop in a healthy realtionship
I simply meant we would have seen her new side
Its just another way of one character developing interpersonal realtionship

Romance wasnt suppose to be subplot,
I get many people didnt enter in for the romance
Some people even were looking forward to the reverse harem lol

But i was simply blinding trusting the buildup author served us
Hak was her first and only person she had trust on
hak was with her since day 1,would have love to see that yona matures not only with other charcters but with hak too,their dynamics didnt shift much
Hak dedicated his life for her,would have to love see yona developing a stronghold for hak
There was obvious space for romance,which was visible
But it was onesided
I get yona as a character is a soft tsundere,but would have loved to see a relieving plot further ahead where she is also thinking of hak
A mature couple in a healthy setting

Now the kingdom arc was completed,fans like me were looking more of the world building into tht space
Romance is a predominant genre in shoujo,and AnY did great job in creating that harmonious setting
Demolishing that typical image of shoujo genre,so to see romance in such great work building would have been a visual delight

What i meant by rushing wasnt to see the milestones they achieve ,but to see hak and yona to develope more
Yona to mature more,and in new colour and new setting


Also not only hak i also wanted to see her friendship develop with lili

But i get it,not everyone has same opinion
i respect them and the choice author had
But as a fan i was little sad that it had potential,and tbh maybe i was just yearning for more as i cannot see it end
Love and respect your opinion too,afterall we all just love yona
