Guys do people like this actually exist? I can’t fathom the idea of reaching 18 years of age and not knowing a thing about your own body/sex in general. It’s actually very common outside of western countries. A lot of people wait til marriage and majority of them don’t have sex for love or to feel good, they do it as an obligation as a married person.. To have children. Sex is also not openly acceptable to a lot of people due to religion, society, culture ect.. I also don’t understand the concept of not understanding sex/your body as an adult. But some people just don’t know because they’re not exposed to it or educated.
actually yes, I met a friend like this and I had to teach her a lot so no men could manipulate her into doing that sort of stuff. I was also shocked since she lives near the city (like 40 mins away) and city ppl are more well known to be knowledgeable in these areas(of course with some exceptions) and my hometown is in a very urban area (meaning they're more conservative and thinks sex ed is teaching young children to have sex).

no kidding. i have commented the same thing in multiple manhwas. not just the past life trope but also the "we met as children atleast once" trope (was just reading scent and sensibility and the flashback of them as kids didn't make sense to me. the story can still progress without it tbh). i can tolerate it if it was hinted at the first few chapters but some of them came out of nowhere

Soulmates as a trope is pretty common (you’ll see this often in books and fanfiction) so Koreans alone aren’t obsessed with it. That being said reincarnation is predominantly a belief found in Asian religions and indigenous beliefs, so that does have a significant impact on storytelling from those regions. Besides, loving someone across lifetimes is a pretty romantic concept, almost classically so.
But here they’ve known a liked each other since they were in middle school/junior high. That’s like mid teens. Not the same no? Besides, while they are connected because of their past selves, they don’t love each other because fate alone dictates it. They’ve been into each other long before the red string quests began. It is a point of connection for them. I don’t think having two characters fall in love before finding out they are predestined is lazy writing.
I’m tired of all the tragic male leads having the same storyline. It’s always the beloved mother dying during childbirth and the father hating the child for it. Can we get a little variety or something? Or at least a more plausible/understandable reason for the ML’s father to hate him?

I think stories like this are so funny. Where the FMC has a really niche talent from her past life or something, and it’s usually an everyday talent but somehow the whole empire and neighbouring countries treat her like she’s a God. Another example of this is the Duchess’ 50 Tea Recipes. I never take them too seriously because it’s so unrealistic the way they’re exhaulted by everyone and everything for something so basic but I like reading them anyway
I think in Duchess' 50 tea recipes, this topic is better handle, they give a more beliveble reason why people dont drink tea - coffee dominance- they give fun tricks and history lesson of tea, and the whole story goes about if you live yourself and have something than you love people will come to you

I really like how in this story almost so the people who are helping the empress are women.
I feel like normally in stories like these they create a reverse harem situation where all the possible LIs have a chance to help the FL when she’s having a crisis or even when she can handle it herself one of them come at the end for one reason or another. It always takes away from the “strong FL” that the author is trying to create and I always think it’s annoying tbh.
I like how in this story the empress doesn’t recurve much help even from the emperor it’s not like she’s really recurving his help it’s more like she’s telling him what she wants to do and he’s going along with it. The only other male “helper” she has is Sing and he doesn’t interfere with her plans either.
She doesn’t really need anyone’s help and all her “pawns” (for lack of better wording) are all women. Even the petty villains that arise are mostly men rather than the typical jealous, evil woman who wants the ML’s attention (even though we had a couple of those too).
Idk it’s not like this is the most amazing story I’ve ever read and I definitely think it’s being dragged out a little bit but I find it refreshing.
I come back to read the recent chapter every few weeks cause I’m waiting for Jaekyung to finally start treating Dan better but he’s literally just getting worse like this chapter caused me physical pain I guess I’ll check in again at chapter 80
I don’t know I pity Kanna a little but not a lot. It would be one thing if Sylph was actually a villainess and she just followed the original storyline of the plot. But the fact that Sylph didn’t do anything and Kanna framed her and got her exiled and potentially killed just suppresses any sympathy I may feel for her
