Yep. Love comes in many forms, I assumed that it is a more brotherly love, but people are free to interpret it however they want.

It's actually amons reaction what makes me think this is actually a confession. Like he can relate to Hide's "love".

Also, fujoshi or not, and even if it is one sided, there is love. that alone should be beatiful enough.

I am a Fujoshi myself, but what those did back then was insane.
Hide could be "love" Kaneki, yes. I just said that we should wait before making assumption and saying things like "the ship is sailed" and such.
That Kaneki and Hide's bond is reeeeeally strong, that goes without saying.

Ok ok ok, so, I'm a hidekane shipper right? But honestly, don't you think this is a bit unnecessary? The argument I mean. I don't like touken because I've had bad memories with someone similar to touka, and so on, but we are all a part of the same fandom, we all read this manga because we genuinely are curious about it. Its just heartbreaking how everyone is so engrossed in these ship wars are ruining it. And yes, you're encouraging this fight with this comment. I mean, both sides can be happy with their assumptions. İshida is not stupid, he knows what kind of reaction people will have with that panel, but he included it anyway, and I like it because its a part of the character and story. Though it honestly does make me pissed how the hidekane shippers randomly started threatening ishida for such a stupid reason. No one has the right to say anything bad about this because all of this belongs to him. If ishida didn't make this series, then there would be no hidekane or touken, so let's just call truce before we hurt and destroy eachother any further

People are free to interpret however they want. If someone in their own mind wanted to ship the gourmet and kaneki together, then they are free to do so. If people want to deny Touken, they can do that too. Im not trying to argue, I even agreed with what you said, and gave a thumbs up. But people are free to believe/interpret what they want.

I am just saying people are free to believe/interpret whatever and however they want. I mean look at religion and the bible, if everything is so set in stone then why are there multiple religious sects?

I've been wondering about the nature of that "love" confession too. As Reena47 pointed it out Amon's reaction also made me think of the romantic kind, but whatever the case I think Hide's character was very cool in that moment. He said it very well, cause whatever better reason do you need to try to save someone than loving them? Whichever type of love may that be. Guess we need to wait to find it out...

And I don't mean to stoke the fires of a ship war... not with the intention of pissing anyone off, but I'm not really invested in that. If I had to pick I'd go with TouKen but only because they mutually seem to hold affection for the other. I got nothing aganist HideKen, I'm an avid BL fangirl myself, I'm just not feeling that pairing? (been ages since i've read the earlier parts of TG)

Between "like" and "pretending to" there is a difference. I'm saying anyone can like the ship they want, BUT to deny facts is denial.
If there is a picture of a cat on the street, and we all see it too, you can't say that you see a lion in a flower garden. That wouldn't be believe or interpret something, that would be "cut down on your drugs". Again, like and hope, anyone can do it, but to deny evidence, that is not.... right?
Anyway, the main reason for my post lies on what happened in the past, and the "fear" taht ppl will go crazy again. I mean literally crazy. Like burning Mangas and such.

I don't know, if it was that kind of love, and if I were Amon, I would rather look sad, because is a one-sided love, or even if it secretely not, Kaneki is married to Touka and she is pregnant. Even though Hide probably knows it already, but still, I would feel sad for him, and wouldn't have the strenght to smile. But anyone is different there.

I havent seen these facts you speak of, can you please site them? Or did you mean that you stated your opinion?

In school I read a book called, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Frank Baum. Baum wrote that Dorthy needs to follow the yellow brick road to get to Emerald City. My teacher said that the yellow brick road represented the gold standard and that the emerald city represented the greenbacks. But after having to look it up, I noticed other people said the yellow brick road meant american streets were paved in gold. While others said it was Dorthy's path for her quest.
Was my teacher wrong for interpreting it that way? No. But you would say he was. Are others wrong for interpreting it the way they did? No. But now I guess they were. So many different people, so many different interpretations. How does that happen?
How dare people try and interpret otherwise. Baum CLEARLY wrote it as a road that was paved with yellow bricks. So it can ONLY be a yellow brick road, according to you.
My creative writing teacher told us that flies foreshadowed death, but I guess when I see them in stories I should only see them as flies. Thank you so much for this reeducation. Maybe, I should call my alma mater and tell them that they should fire these teachers for not teaching us to only take things at face value.
I still believe I am free interpret the "I love him" from Hide as a brotherly love and not romantic; just as Reena47 can see it as romantic and not brotherly. And just as Ren believes that Touka abuses Kaneki, you are free to believe that Touka cherishes Kaneki. There is nothing to argue about (i said i agree with you, but for some reason you want to have this discussion), we are all entitled to our opinions.....And now I am done. Thanks.

The world is not based on opinions and interpretation only, there are thing which are that way and no other. You can interpret how you want, but saying that it IS like you said, even if it cleary stadet as not, I repeat myself, that is just denial. You can't come up with things wich are your imagination only, and call them true facts.
There is something called reality, and I am a realist.

Now again, people can interpret things as they want, but not deny the reality. In this case, it would be not fair to the story and not to sensei either.
