Update please its been a year
Unfortunately there's nothing to update since the author themselve has not continue this, it's been in hiatus since like 2023
The more I think, the more I get confused so I'm just going to... read it without thinking about everything. So far Mr. Jeong and the master are fine as hell I hope there doesn't come a time where he needs to choose between them two.

He actually fucked a dog or is that a metaphor and misunderstanding?? Like the mc being called as a dog since chase didnt know what the hell happened during his rut so he really didnt know who he did it with and his brother just comes with a literal dog on a leash all menacingly after his rut happened and messed with him. - the big brother when he saw the mc it felt familiar like he knew who he was and sort of felt ironic to him or repulsed like 'oh what are you doing here? WHY are you here?' And doesnt the mc have a child with chase? Isn't he the 'dog' that chase had his rut with??
He spent his rut with Josh but he doesnt remember, when he came back to his sense he wonder what happened because it doesnt feel like the usual cycle. Grayson gaslighted him by saying he spent his rut with Alex the dog, Chase ends up "believed him" and trying to be denial about it. The dog thing isnt metaphor at all, no one knows Chase spent his rut with Josh aside from Josh himself
In the novel chase’s older brother tricked him into thinking chase did it with a dog. Chase did in fact NOT screw a dog, his older brother is just evil and likes to torment chase. It’s a way to manipulate and control him. From what I remember, the brother drugged chase, hence our main character isn’t really able to remember what all ACTUALLY went on, he just remembers a dog being the first thing he sees after being drugged and going through rut, then his brother told him he did it with a dog.

The dogs thing has to do with Chase's first rut, when Chase still lived at home, anything else wouldn't make any sense -there was no Josh around, because it was before Josh.
Grayson that day went into a panic, thinking that Chase would go crazy or die ( the pheromone stuff is a serious matter in that family, but also for dominant alphas in general), because there was no one the spend the rut with. So he got his dog, but Chase passed out and nothing happend, and they took his pheromones out by injection ( the reason why they suddenly used an injetion wasn't in cluded in KMIYC, but you know form another novel that their dad arrived).
Since Grayson tends to do stupid jokes ( he did those dog joke in KML too, bad made clear it's a joke) ,and since he can't understand emotions so his smiles look unnatural since he fakes them etc, I think it can be difficult to tell if he is joking or not. And he joked about the dog after that, and Chase remembered a dog being there and nothing else....
Grayson later used Chase's fear to make him go to the pheromone parties, where they took out his pheromones by injection. He does actually do it to help Chase, since Chase himself is not even going to the hospital to get his pheromones removed. The sad thing is that Grayson only sees the result that they get out his pheromones, but not what damage his methods did to Chase.

So basically, past MC split himself into two, one half is obsessed with the ml and the other half ISNT obsessed with the ml.
The PAST mc that is obsessed with the male lead wants the male lead to stick to the past, to HIM - instead of his other half who IS NOT obsessed with the male lead.
The male lead likes the other half who is NOT obsessed with him but is forced to go like the one who is obsessed with him through some supernatural will that is put on him by the creepy lookin one that is obsessed with him.
The main character is just haunted by his other half that is obsessed with the main lead, therefore is dealing with the main lead too. Since you know the mc is always doin something with the ml and hes like 'what the hell is going on, why is the ml behaving like this, why do i have some feelings for this guy'
Of course he's also going to like the main lead because he still is the other half of the other version of him that is obsessed with the main lead. If they turned into 1 person again then clearly the mc is obsessed with the mc and he wants to create a version of him that FITS the needs of the main lead because the main lead doesn't like the original obsessed HIM.

For me im very much rooting for the other version who isnt obsessed with the main lead and i hope that they don’t become one. I hope the past version of him who is obsessed with the ml disappears.
My thought is also same, i m also rooting for the modern version mc.
