He finds her in chapter 18 when she’s in a tavern in some new village. Meanwhile His shadow warriors are at her house. By the time she gets back there, the shadow warrior has taken the kids and brought them to him. The kids are a bit older (they look like they’re 4 or 6 years old) and they’re understandably scared since they probably didn’t know they had a father to begin with. The boy is crying but the girl is more courageous. The chapter ends with the emperor kneeling in front of them as he speaks to them.
Chapter 19, the kids have calmed down. He gives them food and they’re happy. They eat and he seems pleased to watch them do so. Meanwhile, the MC gets to her house and finds the red head knight in love with her there. They fight/talk (he was also there with the shadow warrior when they took the twins). They end the fight with her rushing back out with some man she knows in her new village. Probably to get her kids. Back to the emperor with his kids. The kids ate their fill and fell asleep. He covers them with a blanket and you can tell he kinds of like this fatherhood thing. Gave me proud dad vibes.

This is not romance, it's psychological thriller. Kinda reminds me of killing stalking just not quite as bad in the gore. This made me genuinely sick and lethargic. The ending is somehow worse than I could have imagined based on novel spoilers
