every fantasy manwha the story literally gives the backstory for why a ML acts cold/heartless. then FL starts to break his hard shell, they both fall in love but can’t communicate, and both make dumb decisions…but 70 chapters later and it’s always the ML fault for not being kind and understanding, meanwhile the iFL is doing the exact same things to him OH BROTHER!!

And last time I checked, the Argan empire never massacred an entire kingdom of people and enslaved the rest are we even reading the same story.
my girl is cooked! that man is always 2 steps ahead. but ngl I’ve been siding with the ML the whole time…are we forgetting she keeps manipulating him and then using his “coldness” as the reason it’s okay. like I get part of her character is not realizing his feelings but it’s getting ridiculous! and outside of their personal contract, she should know that the Emperor was going to come after her for running away with the potential baby. as much as I hate to side with a man, I’m rooting for the ML

Elise is manipulating him bc she doesn’t wanna die??? Is that a problem??? Also, the only reason she’s with him in the first place is…bc, DING DING DING YOU GOT IT, she doesn’t wanna die. And one of the reasons she’s running away is that she thinks he’s a terrible father, and honestly she’s right he’s definitely going to be a sucky dad unless he buys another personality with all that money he has.

the only people he killed were the leftover people found on his land in later chapters…that wasn’t her entire kingdom. she literally meets ML at the beginning running away from the ppl who invaded her home
it’s not that I don’t understand her motive, but that she’s shifted from being grateful to be alive/survive to going behind his back for this small potential chance of saving her kingdom that has already fallen. she’s risking the lives of many others for a very short reunion with her brother. i think its unfair to say we know the ML would be a bad dad when his whole character arc is about someone who was never shown love learning about love and to be loved. the whole story is how he is slowly changing bc of his love for the FL which will probably increase once the baby is born.
Elise’s and the ml’s relationship was already screwed up from the beginning. Her two choices were: die, or survive for a bit and then die of childbirth. She has every right to go behind his back, when he was the one who slaughtered her people. And even if he was ordered to do it by the king, he was still the one who did it. It’s like saying that Rudolf Höss shouldn’t be punished for genocide bc he was following orders from Hitler. Individuals are still responsible for their own actions. And don’t forget that one chapter, where ml ordered what could be the remainder of the people of Argan to be murdered, even though Elise apologized and told them to not fight for her or Argan. And whose lives is she sacrificing? Oh right, the people who work for the ml, who she thinks will KILL HER UNLESS SHE POPS OUT A BABY FOR HIM. And one could argue that a murderer should not be shown love, for, you know, obvious reasons. And why should his love for Elise grow bc of the baby? Bc he sees her as someone useful to him, somebody that can pop out babies for him?
