Can someone please explain to me how the current season of black butler goes on to the timeline? Because I swear Ciel died and I’m just so confused by this point
ciel doesn't die in the manga, that’s an anime only thing. the anime takes a few liberties from the manga, so i recommend reading the manga first.

i feel you, friend. i’m trying to put together a watch order but the anime just changes so many things, it’s even confusing to me, someone who’s been keeping up with black butler for almost 10 years. i’d just say ignore everything with alois/claude/angelica, none of it is canon to the manga. watch book of circus, book of murder, book of atlantic and then the newest season

Ciel did die in the old anime. But that was before the manga reaches the circus saga. And because of that, all that happened (the other demon butler with the blonde kid) are non canon. They were merely there to finish the anime when in the original they dont appear. So basically forget that part and focus in the new anime
4 seasons including the newest one, a couple OVAs but the only one you really need to watch is book of murder, and one movie. i won’t say it’s completely different but it does deviate heavily from the manga and the events after s1 ep16 aren’t canon, neither is the entirety of season 2.
