yeah that's totally true but yaoi manhwas don't reflect society at all. like I've seen multiple manhwas where the most absurd things happen and are treated like normal for example these show biz manhwas but they're set in Korea and one of the guys comes out as gay to the public and the public is like fine w it. obv that wouldn't happen in irl Korea any time soon. these manhwas are like in their own escapist universe and obviously come from fetishization so in most yaoi manhwas these characters can claim to be straight but very often they hook up w a guy. I personally just won't ship them without any indication of any romantic tension between them. I also agree w what you've said as it applies to the real world but these manhwas have their own tropes that wouldn't happen in reality
