When Tia and her mother were visiting the Palace and having tea with the Emperess and 10 years old Ruve they were attacked by assassins. Tia's mother protected Tia while Ruve had to defend himself, the Emperess only ordering the gards to do so. It made Ruve both sad and jaleous (He wanted to be loved by Tia's mother be she have choosed Tia over him) and so he started acting mean toward her while she was already traumatized by the attack.

All in all, fuck him and his pettiness. He did not even growth out of him since he screamed at her when he was 16 years old when and she was 11 just because she served him his favorite food of all thing (and in the novel he revealled that after she collapsed he was going to do it again out of frustration). "Misunderstood sweet boy"... Right.
