the twins hated thalia first despite her literally not doing anything. did you forget how the twin brother beat her as a kid? she just became what they expected of her. there was no sucking up to them, they hated her guts and there was no changing that. thalia chose to behave the way she did because they literally would’ve killed her if she’d been kind and meek. rather than trying to kiss their asses (which would’ve been no use), thalia chose survival.
the twins also hardly even get humiliated. it’s weird you can excuse their actions because of trauma while being harsh on thalia. the twins could also try to patch things up but aren’t interested in it, they’re just interested in being the victims. in the first place, it’s thalia who gets the actual lasting humiliation. nothing she does could redeem her because she will always be seen as an extension of her mother in the eyes of everyone, that’s why she acts the way she wants.
