ngl i kinda want them to break up..
(btw thanks guys for such ratio, that's funny)
I think it would be an interesting approach if the top somehow suggested a breakup because the bottom can't accept his flaws. Constantly adapting to elaborate rules in a relationship isn't easy. If he wants to kiss their significant other or cuddle together at a time other than the rules says, but can't, that's not a healthy approach. The bottom doesn't see how hard the top tries for him and constantly imposes new rules on him. Why can't bottom adapt and sacrifice something only top does that? Perhaps suggesting a beakup would finally be a moment of realisation for bottom and he would see how oppressed top was with all the rules. Their relationship needs more freedom, not everything has to be perfectly planned and has to go according to the rules. Sometimes going off track is good
That's interesting!! I'm actually sympathizing from the rule-head perspective. Partly because later chapters reveal that sangchu is making sacrifices that j undercredits and partly because I'm dispositionally similar to him.
I think one issue is that these first few segments are told mostly from the spontaneous guy's perspective, so we're easily aware of what he's giving up, and we take for granted what sangchu is giving up.
For me, reading this up to the point to which we have official sides, I'm thinking if they can't negotiate better, sangchu should dump jaesomething bc j is so in his head about how he's the only one giving anything up. Though, to be frank, to me they both disregard the efforts the other is making. Ungrateful partners don't really last.
More generally, I think there's a core mismatch in needs and values. For me, a partner who isn't interested in self refinement, who doesn't think sloppy conduct is per se worth avoiding, not for the partner's sake, but for the sake of the one who is engaging in it, is strictly incompatible with my needs & worldview. I don't think spontaneity is wrong, though maybe I do think mess is indefensible, but i personally completely shut down in surprise situations. Obviously people who can tolerate our even enjoy spontaneity are probably more resilient, but I am not one and wouldn't hurt them or myself by trying to pretend I'm compatible with one. Turning to the worldview point, it's also hard to give credit for choices where the primary beneficiary is J, e.g., he says he quit smoking for s... ok good for you, you probably would have been allowed to continue poisoning yourself as long as you made sure it didn't second hand murder your bf along the way. Ignoring this kind of core needs & worldview friction is where I think they have most gravely erred, if I'm to defend the "break up" position. In the actual side story chapters yet to come I'm satisfied with how they communicate and negotiate their way to peace.
Anyway, where I most agree with you is that I don't believe in "opposites persist". They may attract, but I doubt they often last.

no matter what greyson did I still feel bad for him, I heard he will be raped by dane. Nobody should be raped
i'd say it;s an overstatement, spoiler
soon dane will be in heat while locked in this vila underground and goes to grayson, and it's obvious that grayson wanted to keep him there until his heat came to prove he's an omega and there are no surpresants there, so it's a no brainer that stuff will happen between them, and grayson isn't stupid enough to not know this, grayson just calls it rape more to make dane a bit guilty or smth, he can read others emotions and knows how to use them
uhm no? when the rape scenes happen it was in grayson's pov and we can really see how afraid he was for it. and first he thought dane would give in to him because they are locked up, yes that's stupid reason. i didn't know others would think he was faking it when the pov was with him. then it should show his evil thoughts. when he saw dane was in heat his first thought was to look at the butterfly in the side of his belly but since dane is forcing himself to him, he forgot his real motive. if grayson is faking shouldn't he take advantage the situation and let dane believe he got affected by his pheromones, that's why he was in rut? in that sense he has more control of the situation than when he was in rut. but no, dane needs to induce rut first before grayson had give in.
i'm just clarifying. i want to add, if grayson has this kind of motive then he shouldn't have said that the reason he locked up dane is to have sex with him. if he just wait for his heat without saying this, it is more convincing. i think we also forgot that he most of the times takes things in a literal way.
Maybe the translation i read was too bad cus I didn't get that vibe, but still he could have had some suppressants to give to Dane if he was that curious to see the mark, also he should know how dominant omegas act in heat and their capabilities also Dane is very strong, he could have prepared countermeasures, since he's the one who got them locked up in a closed up underground vila. I'm only saying this because Grayson is smart and a strong dominant alpha. I mean you wouldn't kinda throw meat to a lion and not expect to be bitten, i don't know how to express myself better than this.
i think we also forgot that dane kidnapped grayson first so this tactic just came up to him when they got into the mansion. unprepared. like dane also said, if ashley would locked up koi in there, there is no way he would put a suppressants in the mansion. and yes i also have that thought with you at first but after reading it in different sites with different translation, i understand the situation well.
Do you have an epub maybe? The one I read also kept using female pronouns for a while and was a bit off with the past/present plus more, but i really wanted to read the whole of you can series
Honestly the only one from the series that had a bad translation, the others were very good, especially lick me up if you can, maybe because desire is the newest completed one(from what I know)
