Oh, he didn't actually forget her birthday. What happened was that, in Japanese, the 4th is "yokka" and the 8th is "youka" which sound very similar (I usually mistake the 8th for the 4th a lot myself because the difference verbally is mostly just a longer o sound) and he thought she said "youka" instead of "yokka" and mistakenly marked the 8th on his calendar. I admit that still does not make him a good boyfriend, but he did not forget her birthday, just misheard the day like if someone said "my cat sat" and someone thought they said "my cat's at"

Thanks for the clarification. It makes a lot of difference! Lol. And guy really have tendencies to be like that. Having dated a lot of them, i found out that its not very unusual. In the end, trying to understand each other is the best way to come up with. Go complain girls! Speak your mind! If they won't listen, then break up with them! Lol
Chapter 6 isn’t even the same manga. And things are just confusing afterwards. Don’t know if it’s the story or the translation.
