This might be an unpopular take, but I don't think the dragon (the ML) is as cruel as we think. I am not excusing his behaviour or that I'm siding with him. Not at all. I still think he's an asshole. I also think that he deserves to suffer more and that he needs to keep groveling to our MC to get his forgiveness.
But at this point in the past, I can clearly see that he has started to fall in love with our MC. He has also started to care about MC's health and wellbeing. Though his words and the way he expressed his actions doesn't looked like it. That might be because he isn't use to being kind, caring, and—obviously—humane.
He is Dragon Lord. A God. Who was taught that he is everything and anything, and that humans are beneath him. And that's why he is very arrogant, mean, and unkind. He doesn't think what he does is wrong because he was taught that he was above everything. He doesn't know and doesn't understand that they way he communicates and convey things, are very very BAD and CRUEL.
This past few chapters, I can clearly see that he's trying to be a good lover to our MC, such as taking care of his cravings, his health—both mentally and physically —, and that currently he's prioritizing MC's wellbeing than his own heir. He wants the MC to be healthy and to be rid of the curse, while he still have powers to do so. His way of conveying it though ? Extremely AWFUL.
Again, I'm not siding with him or excusing his behaviors. He is a jerk and a massive asshole. But he's not as evil as we all depicted him to be. So yeah, let's just wish of his suffering for waiting MC for centuries, and the groveling he will need to do.

I came for the art style and stay for the plot. The plot is actually good. A little heavy and confusing at first but it become enjoyable and interesting. I was kind of expecting a more calm and happy side stories. But as someone who enjoys angst and conflict, I think it isn't that bad. I really like this manhwa (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Zhang Li is sooooo damn gorgeous this season. And the art style for S3 looks crisp, beautiful, and straight up magical. Soooo in love with this PEAK manhua ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ

Okay so, from what I've gathered so far. In Zhang Li's life, Ebis was destroyed a long time ago, and what's left of Ebis are newly found ruins and a tomb. When Zhang Li visited the ruins of Ebis, he met 'Stone'. Who he then guessed to be the last king of Ebis before it's downfall—simply because Stone came from the statue guarding the tomb of the last king of Ebis.
We all know that Zhang Li eventually fell in love with Stone and his strong desire to meet Stone again made him got sent to the past where Ebis is still standing as a proud and strong kingdom. And that's where Zhang Li met the current king of Ebis who looked exactly like Stone, Mehemis or 'Mimi'.
Zhang Li, who knew about Ebis future tried so hard to protect Ebis from falling into ruins. And most importantly—because currently he thought that Mehemis is Stone—Zhang Li tried to prevent Mimi's death in the future. He tried many ways and orchestrated many plots and ploys so that Ebis will never fall. Along the way, Zhang Li found out many secrets and problems. So he tried to fix them, and while doing so he found out about Anubis or 'Nunu'.
Zhang Li, at first, thought that Nunu looks eerily similar to Stone too. And that's what intrigued him the most. Nunu at first didn't believe anything about Zhang Li, from his words to his existence. Nunu thought that Zhang Li might gonna be the cause of Ebis's downfall. But Zhang Li insisted that what he's doing is helping Ebis to not fall. So he tested Zhang Li by putting him in charge of the 30 people that Nunu has chosen himself.
And when Nunu found out that Zhang Li's words are not fake but real—because he came from a peaceful future, they (Nunu and Zhang Li + Mimi) agreed to work together. All went well for awhile, until Zhang Li found out that Nunu is the God who has the power of petrification (turning something into stone). And he became paranoid that Nunu might turn Mimi into Stone. But Nunu himself didn't know why he had such a terrifying power.
And that's where we got a glimpse of Nunu's life. In that glimpse, we see that Nunu was also a King in his past life who died and his kingdom fell into ruins. Sounds familiar, right ? We all saw it ourselves when after Nunu died, the other God/Gods (my guess might be Ra, Isis, or Osiris) gave his soul another chance to be turned into the God of Souls. And the God/God's only turned Nunu's soul. Not his whole self, because his body is already dead.
Now this is where I've connected the dots. Please take this with a grain of salt, this is purely my understanding of the plot. I might be very wrong, so please be kind.
I think that Anubis (Nunu) is actually Mehemis (Mimi). Not currently no, but as in Anubis was Mehemis in his past life. Because not only does they looked identical, their life is pretty much the same. The Granny that Nunu saved is the key point here. No one knows about this Granny at all except for, you guessed it, Mimi and Nunu. Also, those 30 people that Nunu picked ? All are what he knows will be Mimi's trusted people. All are whom Mimi will choose to run his kingdom until something suddenly happened. My guess will be betrayals upon betrayals.
From what I've deducted, Mehemis in his first life died because of betrayals of his most trusted people (like from Dier right now). His body is put safely into a tomb with a stone statue of himself that is acting as both a guard to his tomb and as a way to preserve Mehemis's and Ebis's history. And then his heart—that had crystallises into a crystal heart—was put into the stone statue of himself. Maybe a sliver of his soul is inside the stone statue because it has his heart. And then many centuries later, Zhang Li awoken him and called him 'Stone'. And you know how that goes.
Now, after we deduce what happened with his body, what happened with Mehemis soul ? This is where the relation with Anubis start. I think, after Mehemis died, the God/Gods took pity of him and granted his soul a second chance. They then turned his soul into a new God ruling over Souls and named him, Anubis. I also think the God/Gods send him to the Ebis before it's downfall but not Anubis's past Ebis. This Ebis has Zhang Li in it. I don't think that the God/Gods turned back time, but they definitely messed with it. So they, i think, kind of created a separate timeline. A new timeline where Mehemis is still alive and Ebis isn't destroyed but also where Zhang Li time travelled.
Anyway, now Anubis, who saw that he had been granted a second chance to save his beloved kingdom, tried desperately to avoid it being destroyed once again. And in this life he met his saviour, Zhang Li. Their relationship is rocky at the start. But now that they've understood each other, Zhang Li, Mehemis (Mimi), and Anubis (Nunu) are working together to protect each other and of course, to protect Ebis.
And that's what I've got from the story. The plot is suuuuper interesting and actually made you think about what's currently going on and it's connection with everything else. For now, we just need to wait whether they (A-Li, Mimi, and Nunu) will realise their connection with each other and their development.

FINALLY !! We're here for the mythic raid. I've been waiting for it in anticipation just like them lol. One of the reasons why I love manhwa about games is cuz the story line always interesting.
