i've never had debate i am still a freshman too but i don't think they offer that at my school. I’m probably the last person to ask advice for when public speaking but I usually like to write things down before hand and have notes or a script to look at if allowed cuz my brain goes blank once I’m infront of a crowd. Breathing helps too and although eye contact is preferred I try not to look at people’s eyes cuz it makes me more nervous ......
