Any rec with a very Protective Uke that helps seme and doesn't joke about his man's safety, like Minyoung in 'Die in my arms'
I'm such a sucker for that trope these days, to give you an idea of what I'm looking for here are stories I love with that trope :

It has a few manga in it, though they dont fit the exact trope (except the last one), they are pretty good reads. I tried to rec mainly manhwas, since people prefer manhwa more.
Why create a character who is often very nice and a green flag just to make him have an unrequited painful love for the mc who will always choose the stereotypical "powerful alpha" ml ?
Like can't he just be a good friend with the mc with his own love interest? Does he have to just be here to frustrate the readers because he does EVERYTHING for the main character who won't ever chose him at the end
Like COME ON stop creating this type of characters just here to be too kind for their own good and never having a happy ending because "they-will-always-love-the-mc-in-the-shadow". Create characters who can stand on their own and whose life don't revolve around the mc's existence, these guys are so pitiful I swear
(This is a little rant because of my men Joseph and Kihu, don't mind me)
Not even talking about if the story itself is good, perhaps it is, but just based on the title.
For me it's all those Isekai stories with a title like : "the tyrant that I raised..." or the "duke that I tamed..."
Idk why It gives me the ick so much, it does not really say anything about the plot but to me it just means :
"here is a story about a completly obsessed Ml with a terrible past who got saved by the mc and since then can't see anything else apart from her, and the mc who knew his trauma shaped him to grow up as she wanted him to, and then somehow falls in love even though she always saw herself as a big sister or mother figure"
I know it's not truly what happens on these stories, but if she really raised the guy it would be strange to picture the mc with the ml after. And the titles with "taming" like, is the ml an animal that needs to be controlled or something ?
i agree so strongly ╥﹏╥ worst part is that a lot of those "I tamed" or "I raised" aren't half bad and I end up putting off good manhwa because of its title
I also don't like manhwa with titles like "I became the male leads ___", not because they're bad or anything but it's too generic and you can immediately predict the plot from the title. like they're gonna end up rejecting the ml in the beginning wanting to live a peaceful life but they end up falling and have a happy ending with the ml, and then the og fl ends up having a wicked personality
Yes I really agree with these general titles, the genre has become so popular than you know with these types of titles that you're going to have this type of plot. Fortunately there are still some really good ones, but the titles are often a bit different than your average "I became the male...", more like "stepmother marchen" or "Death Is The Only Ending For The Villainess"
I was wondering what other think of webtoon adaptation into anime ?
I must say that to me, apart from Donghua adaptations of bl, I'm really not convinced, it feels like anime format doesn't fit the webtoon format AT ALL, it kinda just makes the story bland and doesn't manage to show the tone of the story.
I'm happy there is an adaptation of the omniscient reader's Viewpoint in 2025 for the author, but at the same time I don't really think I will watch it because I feel like it will not be really good compared to the novel and the webtoon because it just doesn't fit that kind of story.
What do you think ?
I agree, not only that, I don't really like the localization they do to air it in Japan, it's just like my dislike of watching dubs over subs. ORV is one of my favorites, so I hope it really gets adapted well.
On the other hand, Chinese animation really do bring a lot more unique features. I've really taken a liking to their animation style.
Btw, who made me a princess was being made into Donghua, and I've watched the trailer (Chinese), we'll see how it goes
I wholeheartedly agree with you!!! I didn't know about the anime adaptation, I'll probably only take a peek at it just because I'm curious about the art style :3
I'm actually not the type to even watch movie adaptations of books because I feel like they miss out on too much details that I love from the original writing.
For webtoon, especially ORV, I think it's going to be kind of difficult to adapt it into an animation because of the length? Because the webtoon is already an adaptation from a webnovel, (i really do need to find the time to read it) I think they will probably have to cut back on a lot of the details from the original, trying to fit so much into the short episodes. I already know that the webtoon itself doesn't have all the precise details as the webnovel, but I've heard that ORV webtoon is not even halfway done right now!! and there's already been so much action and storyline.
I can't imagine they will be able to fit all the amazing scenes, the intricate storytelling, relationships and bonds, into an animation. Probably why we feel there is a vast difference in tone and format.
So I think it was a bl, but maybe not, there is just 1 scene that just popped in my mind :
mc is (I think) shy/introvert and his/her class is travelling, there is this guy that is very outgoing that tries to speak to him and basically include him in his group of friend. But mc had already accepted to sit with another guy who seems like a loner. This guy talk sh*t about the popular guy to mc, but he is actually the *ss, like there is a moment he says mc to wait him I think but he leaves him alone to have fun with his friend. Then the popular guy asks Mc if he wants to hang out with him and his friend, and mc says ok. But then when he sees him, the loner *sshole has the audacity to accuse mc of going with others even though HE left him to go with his friends. It ends with popular guy roasting *sshole and mc becomes friend with popular guy and his group of friend who are good people
It was not at all the main part of the story, but it just came back to me, does it ring a bell for anyone ?

Any bl story in which mc takes revenge on the group of guy that abused and mistreated him, and DON'T end up falling for any of his r*pist/bully
Like something NOT like 'profundis' or 'Dark fall', but instead the Mc manages to get away from toxic guys and either takes revenge on them or make them regret the way they treated him for the rest of their lifes ?
the pawn's revenge ?
