So I was playing Ap●x Legends and I enabled Voice Chat on a Disc●rd Server I've been using for months while we were playing. So once I started using voice chat everyone started asking if I was a GG (Gamer Girl) or a 12 year old boy. I was confused at first but then I remembered that not a lot of Gamer Girls exist.
I told them that I was a Girl and what followed was among the strangest crap I'd ever seen.
Some people started pestering me to give me their Snapchat and others made comments like:
"Does she Have a Dick"
"Is she using a Voice Modifier ?"
" Can you add me to your Friend List ?"
Some people also started saying crap like:
"Oh man, we have a Girl on our team, we are so gonna lose"
Even though I had some of the best Gameplay on the server, a lot of people told me to get off their team. They even harassing me and started saying shit like
"Can you send me nudes ?"
I'm actually 14 and I didn't think that they'd react like that. I told them to stop and they still continued and made sexist comments throughout the gameplay session.
I quit the server and joined another server exclusively only for Gamer Girls. Honestly they are so much better to hang out with than those people.
I still feel kinda guilty for some reason. I didn't think that I did anything wrong.
I feel bad for you. Tbh crap like that happens on many social media apps I quit discord for (a bit) the same reason.
Toxicity is the problem and idk what people think they are they shouldn't just judge and do whatever they want with others it makes me sick.
Thanks guys, also I think I have to indirectly thank the trolls for leading me to the all-women server I'm currently using. There are no toxic people on there, only kind and supportive ones. (Doesn't mean we don't occasionally trashtalk eack other )
that’s because a lot of boys on discord are incels. it’s like a breeding ground for them anyways don’t feel bad for leaving because they are just insecure little bitches that are mad because a woman has better gameplay than them.
You did nothing wrong, those are the kind of people who were raised poorly and have terrible values with little to no sense of gender equality. You don’t have to apologize for saying no to verbal and sexual harassment towards a minor. You were right to leave that environment of toxic masculinity, and I’m happy to see you found a new supportive community. You’re 14 and you already know how to say no to others taking advantage of you. Don’t be guilty, be proud.
If I was in that server, the only thing I’d do a bit differently, before I leave right away, would be to leave a warning to other females about how toxic the server really is before leaving and letting them decide whether they’ll stay or leave before they experience something just as bad.
That reminds me, a friend of mine went through the same thing, but instead she DMed them with dick pics she downloaded of the interenet and Flipped them off before she left the server. I wish I was like her
Gotta love those people who like to leave with a bang! I mean, if you’re gonna leave, you might as well be as annoyingly disruptive until they WANT to kick you out :P
