I am not sure. Some people that finished reading the sequeles say he does change and starts treating tay well and respects his will.

He does to some extent, he is a psychopath but something happens towards the end of the sequel that changes his view and he comes very close to losing Tae after which he truly does change for the better. It's not some drastic change where he becomes all soft but think of it like more tamed?

Some people say he changes in the sense that he is still a monster in his line of work. But he treats tay well, he respects his will and is not forceful towards him, no more punching him, raping etc. Like he starts to be a caring partner when it comes to tay.

Well this was the last time he had sexually assaulted and hurt taeui. Well he slapped him after in i think passion suite but whatever there was a reason i swear- i personally think ilay didnt change as a person at all, but instead changed who he was to taeui. Diaphonic symphonia is set like i think 5-10 years after Passion and u can see their relationship together and how they both treat each other, and in passion suite u can see how much ilay loves him. He treats taeui rlly gently and gets like mad asl whenever taeui gets hurt but hes still crazy rick the only difference is he has a weakness now which is taeui, and taeui has been kidnapped and hurt once because of that but after ilay went on a hunt for those responsible who had run away and throughout the course of i think 3 months taeui had gotten gifts delivered to him by ilay with the attackers heads no one dared to hurt taeui again bc he was ilays weakness. Theres also a scene which shows taeuis love for ilay but if u want ro know that just ask-

Thank you. I didn't know what to believe. Since some people say ilay never changed and keeps being abuse, while other people say he does change, he treats tay well and respects his will. Now the how and why they fall in love with one another, that has to be one hell of a character development moment for both. Is that really explained properly?

Honestly I dont think it was explained detailed enough bc it never covers the part where they both recognised each other as their romantic partner. But there was these chapters where members from the ex T&R group came together to make taeui realise “Damn i cant help but love this guy” and they went through a bunch of ilays traits to make taeui say it, pointing out things like his wealth and his dick size And these chapters helped us readers to figure out some reasons behind taeuis love. It shows us how taeui isnt afraid of ilay, not wanting to completely change ilay but instead just accepting him for who he is. One of the reasons why taeui stayed with ilay was because he knew he was the only source of ilays humane feelings like fear, affection and regret. + Taeui is rlly only one of the few ppl to mentally keep up with whatever the fuck ilays on. Taeuis feelings grew and adapted over time, resulting in Taeui understanding and depending on ilays possessiveness and obsession which caused taeuis feelings to reciprocate in intensity.— Taeui also said that it was pretty much fate so i guess its him saying they were both made for each other. For ilay, everyone had noticed differences in him when he started being together with taeui, eg: “ever since Rick has been with you, hasn’t he taken a step back from his extreme ways? Before, he was like a thermonuclear bomb, but now at least he’s more like an atomic bomb with a safety device.” The safety device is representing taeui and how hes ilays weakness. This is what ilay said about his feelings towards taeui: “I like it. To the point where I think my mind has become abnormal. And sometimes it’s painful. Painful to the extent that it almost feels like pleasure. If I had known it would be this painful, perhaps from the very first time I met Taei, before everything turned out like this, I should have gotten rid of him.” and hes later asked if hed leave taeui and he firmly says absolutely not, needing to love taeui because even though its painful for him, its also a good pain that heals him. Ok this will be the last thing but this is what taeui says when he was asked if he regretted staying with ilay: “Wheter I regret it or not is another matter. I’ve already prepared myself for the things that will happen when I’m with him. Like how life won’t go smoothly, how I might not know what will happen to me tomorrow, or how I might have to endure unfair suffering, all sorts of things.” Its kinda just another statement of taeui accepting the consequences and results of his current life with ilay. Uhm this was longer than i thought i explain things rlly badly but in the end of this “arc” taeui and ilay shares a kiss with taeui saying he cant help but love ilay. Honestly id love a bunch more chapters about their feelings towards each other but yeah

Thank you for explaining this. I heard there are a lot of cute moments between them. Honestly, my opinion on everything I have been told is that the whole romantic aspect of these two feels kind of forced and weak. Obviously, treating Tay with care and respect is good and a sign of love, but nothing really feels organic. You know what I mean? The reasons for love here don't sound very convincing. Ilay seems more obsessed and codependent than in love, while Tay seems more resigned than in love. It feels like they are together simply because they have to be, since they are the main couple, but not enough development is presented.

Ilay stops being abusive, and I believe at one point it is said that Tay is with him of his own free will. But at the same time, it doesn't look like Tay leaving was a real option for him at all. So it feels like the author tries to overcompensate for this by stopping Ilay from being forceful towards him. And we go from so many volumes of rape to them being in love and taking care of one another, with no real consequences for past actions. There is no real logic as to why a victim of so much abuse could love somebody who gave him nothing but pain, or how a criminal could actually feel love for somebody he never had any issue tormenting. I can't help but feel the cute moments are out of place ; there is no cohesiveness as a whole between everything that happens. It's like the author just thought, "Okay, we are done with the rape, let's move on to the part where they are in love.

I respect everybody who has enjoyed it, but I feel this story would make much more sense without being labeled as a dark romance, because it doesn't really hit the mark for me when it comes to exploring the love that is supposed to exist beween them. Which should be one hell of a grand moment considering everything that happened.

Sorry, but you can still enjoy it. I think the story has interesting topics. But the romance aspects was in my opinion treated as an afterthought. Which seems to be the case with many stories that try to present themselves as a romance that is born after a period of darkness. For somnething like that to make sense and feel organic, a lot of development is requiered. And i feel sometimes authors don't do enough so it feels forced and rushed.
