Really? They said she was likely going to inherit the Count of Renkels title in which case she'd be the third highest noble rank (behind Duke & Marquess).

i wish stories that had the trope of noble x commoner would have more conflict and show the struggle of them being together due to the differences in their social classes. I know these stories tend to be light hearted. The only person who usually objects the main character couple is the "villainess" of the story, who tends to be the nobles fiance. and i understand why she would object-- its her fiance.. makes sense.
However, i wish these authors made something deeper. Something that allowed you to root for the characters because of the injustice they face by society for simply being in love. I also wish authors would show the darker sides of their worlds alot more: the wealth gap between the nobles and the commoners, how nobles look down on commoners and believe commoners are of a lower birth and maybe the main character realising how easy she has it inside the palace compared to the commoners outside. I would love to see that. A main character recognising their privelage and recognising the flaws of their world.
But alot of the time the story is through rose tinted glasses where the mcs always win and walk down a flowery path the whole time.
Thats why alot of the noble fantasy trope is a bore to me. I still read it but i dont expect anything great or beyond surface level.

Randt is actually Vionne's (Mc) cousins, he's the son of older/younger brother of vionne's father. So technically vionne's uncle who pass away.

He can't change who he is, he can repent and change his actions and learn values but he can't be a different person altogether. He is correcting his mistakes but he is still his own person

Of course this is all by his design bc he feels that Sejin deserves a fresh start (hence the whole fiasco in s2) but you’ll see moments here and there where his possessiveness and inscrutable nature jumps out lol. He actually speaks about it later on and says how he was trying to walk a fine line of respectability and guilt.

Surprisingly bad take. People can change themselves for their partner. He can work on himself and still be his own person.

That's what I meant though. He is an indifferent and aloof guy but changed himself for his love. He has changed alot in fact, and constantly working on himself yet ofcourse the whole personality can't be changed hence some moments of him are like this
