Commoner and Emperor. Not “realistic” in fiction. Feel like a couple like this could never get their “happy ever after”
Really? They said she was likely going to inherit the Count of Renkels title in which case she'd be the third highest noble rank (behind Duke & Marquess).
i wish stories that had the trope of noble x commoner would have more conflict and show the struggle of them being together due to the differences in their social classes. I know these stories tend to be light hearted. The only person who usually objects the main character couple is the "villainess" of the story, who tends to be the nobles fiance. and i understand why she would object-- its her fiance.. makes sense.
However, i wish these authors made something deeper. Something that allowed you to root for the characters because of the injustice they face by society for simply being in love. I also wish authors would show the darker sides of their worlds alot more: the wealth gap between the nobles and the commoners, how nobles look down on commoners and believe commoners are of a lower birth and maybe the main character realising how easy she has it inside the palace compared to the commoners outside. I would love to see that. A main character recognising their privelage and recognising the flaws of their world.
But alot of the time the story is through rose tinted glasses where the mcs always win and walk down a flowery path the whole time.
Thats why alot of the noble fantasy trope is a bore to me. I still read it but i dont expect anything great or beyond surface level.
I’m confused, is the kid really the MCs father? Her half brother? It doesn’t make sense the way they portray him then introduce an illegitimate son???
Tbh I’m surprised about how the ML still treats him in the present timeline. He has moments of indifference, coldness, and aloof, but then he acts like a good person getting him what he needs, helping him sleep etc. I feel bad for the MC. He’s just pushed around by everyone.
He can't change who he is, he can repent and change his actions and learn values but he can't be a different person altogether. He is correcting his mistakes but he is still his own person
It’s the guilt of treating him like garbage vs the affection and love he feels that he doesn’t deserve to have for Sejin
Of course this is all by his design bc he feels that Sejin deserves a fresh start (hence the whole fiasco in s2) but you’ll see moments here and there where his possessiveness and inscrutable nature jumps out lol. He actually speaks about it later on and says how he was trying to walk a fine line of respectability and guilt.
Surprisingly bad take. People can change themselves for their partner. He can work on himself and still be his own person.
That's what I meant though. He is an indifferent and aloof guy but changed himself for his love. He has changed alot in fact, and constantly working on himself yet ofcourse the whole personality can't be changed hence some moments of him are like this
I don’t understand why Rutger would want/ask advice from someone who was shitty to the person he loves(?). She also simply accepts living with her dad again like he didn’t abandon her. I thought her revenge would be terrible for the person who sold her off three times. The ML may have loved her but he literally didn’t talk to her. No matter the excuse, he kept quiet about everything…
So it seems like she wants a divorce because she’ll be dying but communicate…Tell him why, try to find a solution, not just divorce and disappear. I hope we’re not in for a ton of misunderstandings.
Sadly, we are. By the looks of it, this might drag about seven chapters(I am merely assuming)

Chapter 108 seemed so random…what was the need..I wish she would just talk to the husband and he’d answer. What’s the point in talking and asking questions to a woman who is so vague…at this point idk where this story is going..(⊙…⊙ )
