OK first off there is no reason to come off the bat rude like that, just so unnecessary...it is so easy to just not say anything. Secondly as a lesbian of course I’m going to read into they relationship as potentially being romantic because I would be extremely happy if I got to see a lesbian relationship pay off! obviously I knew there wasn’t a GL tag which is why I was wondering if that would be a development down the line because at the end of the day GL is romance as well. I have read other comics without a GL tag that still had lesbian characters in it, and sometimes those relationships don’t work out and that can be very heartbreaking for me especially if I’m invested in the relationship. For example in this one, Mari and Lara’s relationship to me is really cute and potentially romantic so I would be really happy that worked out but I think I might be pretty upset if it didn’t. I’m just doing this for my own well-being, if it doesn’t work out I just don’t want to read it, not that big of a deal.

Well sorry if you’re offended. I just don’t understand how many gay/lesbian have to set an expectation that a character can be like them. As a gay person, I’ve been in many yaoi community where people get disappointed/angry that a character is not gay like them, claiming they were baited when the characters were just close. They like playing the victim that they were led on. Like dude, it wasn’t even that type of story! It can be heartbreaking when gay/lesbian characters don’t get their happy ending in some stories but don’t turn straight people to gay like how many gay/lesbian don’t want to be forced to be straight! As you said, it’s easier not to say anything but I’ve been seeing lots of this nonsense in the community. Stop setting yourself up...If you’re looking for gl, read those specifically written instead of expecting lesbian characters in a straight story.

This is exactly why I was asking, so I didn’t have to set myself up for those expectations. And it’s not expecting or forcing straight characters to be gay... it’s that their sexualities are never explicitly stated which allows room for expectations to grow especially when they do have a close relationship where their actions, sure can be taken as friendship, but can also very easily be taken as romantic. They’re are even really extreme cases where it’s so obvious of the two characters do love each other especially by their actions and their language, like explicitly, but then authors will just take that away and still have them end up as a straight person. You honestly can’t deny that queer baiting is a thing and you can’t get mad at people having those expectations when there’s reason for it to be there... that’s why it doesn’t matter if there’s no tag for it because within the actual manga there’s ‘evidence’ I suppose.

I mean personally I have read manga where girls will say shit like they want to marry other girls or spend the rest of their life with other women, have such close relationships where like there is blushing and there’s cuddling and just in general actions and words done generally by lovers! And authors will just continue to build up that expectation and then crush it with words like ‘oh you’re such a great friend’ or just you know having them get with a guy. I mean that’s heartbreaking... I don’t know how many times I’ve read manga where this happened and I’ve sent a text my friend saying like the gays can never win... it sends a message that it like just isn’t allowed :/

I don't know if she necessarily is, I mean her wish for a family that conforms with her gender performance it would be the figure of a wife that keeps a home for her as a knight. So far she hasn't shown any preference for sexual orientation.

Nah, just with the title of the manhwa itself tells us who the canon is besides it's been a long journey and her role seems like will only be use for some big plot

I mean she literally said she wanted a wife, someone to have kids with that she herself wouldn't birth (again implying a wife), who would be a place to return to and would support her as a knight (which women do for their husbands in acrea) and as she said all this it ends by showing Tori (the new girl) which is basic foreshadowing saying "Hey we got your girl right here". Plus Tori doesn't seem to want to marry Lucius, it seems like she has to go along with her uncles plans since he recently brought her into the main family (so he's kinda blackmailing her in a way). Tori is only at the castle to catch Lucius's eye, and when that scene ended it said that the two of them (Paul and Tori) were thinking of thing that they could never obtain IN ACREA which I'm pretty positive is implying towards the strict customs surrounding what women can and cannot do in acrea, that they CAN do in the other countries that no longer exist (just like how Pauliana became a knight in her country, it was frowned upon but still allowed). (though in tori's case it could be that she could never get the emperor but from her facial expressions and reactions, it seems like she doesn't want him anyway meaning she wants something else (and the opposite of a man is...ya know, a woman sooo)... I know that the title could imply she ends up with Lucius and seems to, but it could also imply that she stays he's knight, and with how she has shown ZERO interest in him romantically 64 chapters in.... I gonna go with knight forever baby~ also that fact that she thought about having a wife before ever showing romantic interest in a man definitely shows preferences. Sooo in conclusion LESBIANS BABY!!!!!!
