For anyone confused about the ending, this story is a play on how Japan (once known as Yamato before Nihon/Nippon, and name of the protagonist) came to be. Also the initial royal descent myth from the goddess Amaterasu, the baby signifies the start of the royal family who came from gods, since these fine men can’t reproduce, all imo.
