I live in Tokyo..the train fair can get expensive..it costs me around $800USD to get to inner city Tokyo. Just imagine going back and forth every day. It gets expensive. Don't even get me started on highway tolls..eek!

I've been living in Kyoto for the past few months and I make a monthly commuter pass to use the trains/subways I need to use, and that costs me $100 (and I have a short commute compared to most students. My friend's pass for a month costs almost $300). You can make passes up to 6 months long which can get super expensive and losing it seems pretty terrible.

It is not an online process to make these passes in Japan, so "cancelling" your card isn't a thing here. I am not sure how renewing would work (if it's even possible), but it seems like a like of work if doable

I am thinking about just driving down on a weekend to Kyoto since I haven't visited yet. It seems cheaper than the shinkansen. I still have yet to use the damn bullet train. I just usually drive everywhere.

Well, that really depends on where you live. I'm in the US, too, but not in a major city where we'd have regular access to a train. I do go into Boston periodically, though, and fares for the T are not as cheap as you describe, though certainly much cheaper than using taxis, and a heck of a lot easier than trying to drive in the mess that is Boston.

Where I live the bus system is free. Thank god, parking passes can cost anywhere from 120-900usd, and one of the ones that costs 540 doesn't even make sure to leave you a space. It's just a pass. If you can't find parking you're shit out of luck lmao. Of course those are for the entire year. Also, if it's during a game day you may or may not be allowed to park. Though since we have free transportation to and from the university I don't understand people who would bother paying for the pass...

Lucky you that you live somewhere with a regular bus system. There is an extremely limited system around where I live, only for seniors and those with disabilities, and running only short business hours. No trains or taxis at all, so no public transportation at all. The city I lived in while in college was a bit bigger, so there was a pay bus system, but the last trips were only around 5pm, so it wasn't much good for anyone trying to do anything outside of 'regular business hours' which is pretty much any college student. The taxi system was shut down after a cab driver was brutally murdered, so there wasn't really true public transportation there.

Yeah, I was really happy to find out that transport was free. Though it only runs from about 0700 to 1700 depending on the route. The funny thing is, when the bus system is down. The Uni shuts down, since without the bus system only about 10% of students (maybe. might be more like 5%) would be able to get parking

Since Taemin's real body died, he was likely cremated as a pauper, unless Woojin's family paid for some funeral at Woojin's request.
