We’ve gotten chapters saying Arnata’s a flourishing nation so of course given how much time has passed, other nations are gonna want in on it (production/trade) and so it results in political alliances through marriage “I offer my son/daughter as a sign of my trust/loyalty in exchange for land/produce/etc”
This doesn’t make Shuraka not telling Tei about his harem any better, but an explanation that he is the ruler, it’s expected that he has political ties through marriage.
