What happened to my sweet fluffy romance that only had a simple evil vampire as the antagonist and the witch finally gets to love and be all flirty together.

Where tf did that story go? I'M UNBELIEVABLY UPSET AT THE WAY IT'S NOSEDIVED INTO SUCH EVIL AND I DON'T EVEN WANT TO CONTINUE. Like I probably will, but seriously would be hitting the dislike button like mad.

This kingdom the MC was born to is messed up. But that's the way the world in this story is set. Trash father who forces his children to kill their siblings, just as his father made him. Abuse is a cycle that needs to stop.

And then everyone liking her just because she's cute. While the art is nice so every character is cute, its simplicity in that regard is annoying. However, I read a lot of comments who are upset that even the father is starting to show favoritism. And you do see it all the time- parent has a favorite child because they are pretty or smart or in this case super powerful. I think the favorability that is starting towards our MC from the father is realistic. He isn't outright nice to her, barely remembers her name, dropped her in a chair roughly, and only saved her because she had no 'sword' with her. Anyone can argue that last statement wouldn't matter, that he'd have saved her anyways but he could just as easily let her be. It's an 'IF...' argument that can't be proven. What we know is what happened.

Now on to the crying foul with our MC getting away with things. He didn't like her asking to go to the party with him, he didn't like that she grabbed his clothes. All the actions she is doing is something none of the other children have ever tried in fear of being killed. Or who don't act that way because he is a trash father so they don't feel the need to be like that with him. She's mentally an adult, so she's pushing boundaries and trying to see how much she can deceive. So like a spoiled child demanded to be held.

The emperor, have no child before demand something of him, curiously chose to indulge. He too is feeling out this child who refuses to look at him with fear, or cry when in pain. Who is now known to have great magical powers. For now she's a curiosity of great potential. The fact he even chucked at the memory of her pluckyness was probably the first time a trashy father who killed his siblings has ever reminisced. He, much like her old witch self, has never recieved/understood love.

I feel his eventual sense of favoritism for her will stem from her great mage abilities, and as he shows more interest will actually slowly begin to see and enjoy her as a person. And hopefully will end the cycle of abuse for all his children and call off the fighting for succession.

I hope he will learn to love all his children, but at least so far the way they are portraying his demeanor (not instant love due to cuteness like everyone else) towards her seems appropriate. I hope they continue this, and not just have him wrapped around her finger asap.
