I kinda get Astrid. I don't think the way she acts comes from nowhere—it feels like a lot of it comes from loneliness.
Maybe the easiest way to put it is that, in Astrid's mind, she married ChatGPT—an AI. And slowly, her kids started becoming like ChatGPT too, when all she really wanted from her husband and children was familial love, not a relationship where love is only shown through duty and responsibility.
It’s honestly kinda pitiful from both sides. She knows they love her, but sometimes people need to hear it directly, not just through subtle hints or actions.
That said, I’m not trying to justify what she did, especially with her own kids. I just hope the MC can change both sides—the Astrid side and the Duke’s side—and help them understand each other better.
The real problem was they can't show their emotion properly.. that's why Astrid feel lonely because she felt like looking at a statue who stared back at you, but when you tried to speak warmly to only be left in coldness of their tone.
She just hated how they aren't expressive enough that's it.
That's why she dote on our little girl because she's cute even in that boy disguise
i can understand both sides of the situation. i feel like Astrid's feelings are understandable but at the same time i fell bad for the Duke cause he cant express himself and is incapable of even understanding that he cant or that he needs to be able to.
i feel like under the circumstances the couple needs to compromise. Astrid needs to stop being so hostile towards her husband for his lack of emotions and the Duke needs to do something like romantic gestures (even if he doesnt "feel" them or understand why he needs to do them) so that Astrid can see him attempting to be a husband to her.
She felt lonely.. and got tired of their cold tone.. it's kinda sad if we put our selves in her shoes.. as if we're chasing an impossible love and affection from someone we tired so hard and fear that their coldness will turn their back on her. And our mc, I think I'll wait how she'll solve this issue so Astrid- well it's seems I can't say it. Cause we all know what will happen next- ╮(￣▽￣)╭
