im having the same question too! i was hoping this is a reincarnation bc we don't wanna see Aeroc suffering all over again

Reincarnated but in s2 or vol 2-3 it’s only Aeroc who returned, so only he has the memories, Clough just dreams of it because of a connection from world 1.

Both Original characters will be experiencing a second chance but meet partners without the memory or involvement in world 1. Vol 2-3 is Aeroc’s return, side story is v4. Vol 5 is Clough’s return but his Aeroc doesn’t dream of the past, but in that arc, Aeroc didn’t fall in love with Clough and avoids him.

The following arcs won’t be tragic, but because the original’s remember, like Aeroc… he suffers from nightmares as well. He sometimes get’s lost between dream and reality. He still goes back inside the cabin in his dreams. But one thing I’ll tell you, Aeroc will be a lot happier after the hurdles… surrounded by so much support and love ones… it’s beautiful.

It’s a great arc. The following arc has people torn though, original Clough get’s his version too and his return is crazy… well since in this second chance, he knows what he wants so he pursues Aeroc really hard. But his an asshole about it… like you can feel the longing, but because OG Clough has so much baggage it haunts him in this new life. The he is still hurting people. His sins from Aeroc, Rapiel and his kids… it tormented him in this new life. It’s a great story in its own way. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

It's not reincarnation. They've been sent back in time. Like reloading a save in a game, but in this case, it's their lives getting reset after they both die. In s2, Aeroc remembers everything that happened before in the first run through, while Clough is remembering in the form of nightmares and flashbacks.
