Like if you're gonna give us that kind of ending, at least add more details in between (and boy did that man grow up badly compared to the omega LOL).

I'm not saying the top did 100% sleep with someone else though, I'm just saying it's not 100% confirmed if he did or not because the author themself didn't say it yet.
But that's not an excuse to go around CONFIRMING PERSONALLY that he did not do so. Ofc, all of us would be happier if top truly did not so I'm reserving my own opinions until then.
Like I said, this top is not someone a reader would normally trust because he's lacking in emotional depth. TAKE MY REVIEW WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. I did NOT read under the oak tree because I did not enjoy the plot. So, clearly I am someone with very different tastes like the most of you who are reading this because of that story.
I searched shortly after I read the previous post summarizing the available spoilers (read that first, as my review continues on from what they have already mentioned). Spoilers were available from Act 1 up to mid-Act 3.
ML DOES have feelings for FL from the very beginning. It's NOT out of obligation nor is it resignation. But he made a promise towards the first empress (Prince & Princess's mom) to protect her children; so he prioritizes them over his own feelings for FL (duty before others). The empress herself said that the promise he made to her would result in him losing something important to him (clearly, that's the FL).
On top of that, FL is just someone who doesn't know how to love and to receive love. While ML doesn't know how to reach out to FL and show his feelings towards her. They hurt each other multiple times (him, prioritizing duty over his feelings; and her, doing everything she could to hurt ML (first, she grapes him for an heir upon orders of her mother, then she blames him for the death of their child, and she tells him she doesn't want to see him so leaves for deployment or whatver idk... BRO IS SHE EVEN TRYING TO BE LIKEABLE???)). A very toxic relationship due to the lack of communication and misunderstandings!
Still, I didn't like the plot at all. But at least the Act 3 spoilers showed FL trying to reach out to ML, and ML being confused as to why FL had changed. I feel bad for both of them tbh; they would have been a happy couple had they not been born in the circumstances they were placed in.
And I think the best ending is they transmigrate to the modern world, get confined at an asylum and assigned a psychiatrist before they get signed off and continue a married life together.
Regardless, NOT MY KIND OF STORY LOL. Even the spoilers alone made me sick because I find no joy in reading stories where they just hurt and hurt and hurt (aka angst).
Gonna take a break first; all the characters feels so bland and the MC is weird. It's usually easy to understand an MC's thought process because we're reading the story from his perspective, but... idk, there's just something off HAHA maybe the story telling is just bad and the flow is stiff.
It's hard to read, plus the personalities of each characters and random informations are just shoved down our throat that it's difficult to follow through (e.g. they said a lot of espers like MC and they even pointed that out several times, but it doesn't even show considering that he's been introduced to numerous espers already since then). That red haired guide is especially annoying too; idk if he's supposed to be nice and friendly (like the MC says he is) or a braggart and annoying (like how I perceive him to be and how the author wrote him). Like I can't tell if that's supposed to be the definition of nice for the author...
Maybe I just don't have patience and it's all building up in the future chapters LOL but the story feels amateur. Anyway, I'll read it again next time ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I have no issue with the age gap since I've consumed an immeasurable amount of xianxia/danxia/whatever-xia BL where the immortal venerable bottom is always... well... at the age where one almost reaches immortality (some use 100+ yrs, some use 800+).
BUT SINCE THEY MENTIONED A SPECIFIC AGE (80ish?) AND AGE(?) REGRESSION, ALL I CAN THINK OF IS: "damn... grandpa is so horny as soon as he got his young body/vigor back"

note, jic ppl come at me: My age gap comment refers to when both parties are actually adults (which is ofc always how it is in this kind of genre (kr or cn alike)), and does not apply to where one of the main characters is so obviously a minor. In stories like this where there is cultivation, age really is literally just a number since their cultivation takes up most of their years and they have less time to bother with "mortal" things like vices and romance. So yes, age gaps are rarely an issue in these stories (unless one is a minor).
Personally, I won't. Not a fan of abuse after abuse after abuse, esp when you wrap it with a bow called SA haha

Read this only because I wanted to see how she could cover up her BURN SCAR from when she was a child. Turns out she used plain POWDER and not a speck of freckles or her burn scar can be seen anymore! From mere POWDER bro... I wish such a thing existed in real life.
Thankfully they showed that part early (around chapter 3 or 4, I think), so it immediately laid out the fact that there is no logic here and there's only the power of magical miraculous makeup that we've never seen before in real life!
I'll pass since it's too unrealistic and the characters are slop too (MC, ML, and villains alike). No reason to read at all for me, so here's my review to warn you guys not to waste your time if you're like me ^^
