This is something that happens quite often in stories involving "old times". Men weren't so interested in womens affairs such as their talks and sensibilities but when it comes to marry their daughters to good families and connections then they are very interested xD
Miscarriages is one of those things they are not so interested about. In fact, even from mothers to daughters, sometimes they used to deal with this topic, miscarriage, in a cold way... something like "can she still have kids? Yes? Ok. Just recover and try again!". Why? because, in the end, the most important thing is that you have to bring children to this world and... If they are boys, the better!! :D
