Whys nobody questioning why the brother is so gray?? if they wanted him to be black/brown then they did a horrible job i cant tell if hes gray because of all the diseases and issues he has or what but he deadass looks zombified
No, people keep saying it’s some kind of aversion, side effect, or something caused by the marking, but I’ve read the whole thing and there’s literally nothing that clearly explains that he’s “grey” because of any of those reasons. That’s just a reader interpretation being treated like canon.
Honestly, I think there’s a bigger issue here: the racialized characterization. Basically, the author is portraying Black and brown characters as inherently “grey,” aggressive, intimidating, or morally questionable. And you can literally see the contrast in the art style too the MC is drawn completely white, and the ML is also literally white, not even some darker shade. Meanwhile, the darker-skinned characters are repeatedly pushed into the “grey”
A lot of authors keep doing this, and people constantly bend over backwards to come up with excuses for it instead of acknowledging the pattern. At some point, you have to call out the racial bias for what it is. If the same pattern keeps appearing Black or brown characters being coded as morally grey while the white characters get the sympathetic framin
how did you read the whole thing when it's not even out fully yet. I am very sure his grey skin is going to be explained in the following chapters. Let's not jump to conclusions here just because it's a common occurrence, tbf it's kinda the opposite in the newer korean BLs - take brothers without tomorrow who are backbone of dark skinned characters in BLs nowadays.
BWAT has always treated and depicted Black and brown characters with respect and as beautiful, going all the way back to their OG stories. This isn’t something they suddenly started doing “nowadays” or randomly changed recently their very first stories already had this kind of representation. So saying BWAT only started depicting Black and brown characters this way recently is simply wrong.
And how are you telling me it’s a “side effect” or an aversion when the story itself has never actually explained that? In your OG comment, you were the one claiming that it was an aversion, but where is that explanation in the actual story? I’ve read it, and you’ve read it too there’s no explanation given for it. So you can’t tell me I “haven’t fully read it” just because I’m interpreting what’s actually shown.
I’m saying it looks like an artistic choice based on the way these characters are consistently depicted. And it’s not just me saying that either. If you go back through the manga’s comments, there are multiple people pointing out the racial aspect of the depiction.
so he's not only grey he also eats ants (chapter 3) which is definitely tied with neurological issues. in every chapter that he appears in he's partly neurotic and visibly paranoid but numb at the same time. It really is as if he's turned into a zombie which is very much tied to the pheromone trauma.
And that’s exactly my point you’re presenting your interpretation as if the story has already confirmed it. Yes, chapter 3 explains that pheromone trauma can affect an omega, but nowhere does it explicitly say that his grey skin is caused by that trauma. The ant-eating, paranoia, numbness, etc. can support your interpretation of his neurological state, but that still doesn’t automatically explain his skin colour.
You literally told me to wait for the author to clarify the physiology, which proves the explanation isn’t confirmed yet. There have also been cases where artists deliberately depict brown or Black characters as grey, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to question the racial implications when there’s still no explanation for this character’s appearance. Right now, I’m interpreting it as a possible racialized choice based on what’s actually shown. If a future chapter explicitly explains that the grey appearance is a side effect of the pheromone trauma, then obviously I’ll change my mind
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET A JOB OMGG. you know what you're currently doing? projecting. stop doing that. not every korean author is racist - it's literally only been 11 chapters. Your conclusion that the author is racist is ridiculous for the amount of lore we are given currently.
hell the author might even be colorblind and we wouldn't know - you know why? because this is a PIRACY site.
Be humble for fuck's sake
STOPEATINGMYSOCK. Hey u fucking coward lol stopped th comments np
LMFAOOO “not every Korean author is racist” —WHO THE FUCK SAID EVERY KOREAN AUTHOR IS RACIST?? You’re arguing with yourself atp.
And telling me to “get a job” because I questioned a character’s design is genuinely embarrassing Imagine having no actual counterargument so you resort to employment advice.
I’m talking about ONE character, his consistent depiction, and the fact that the story STILL hasn’t explained why he’s grey. I already said I’ll change my mind if the author gives an actual explanation. Until then, questioning what’s literally on the page isn’t “projecting.”
And the “piracy site” excuse?? The scan being pirated doesn’t magically change the pixels.
Istg that is the HOTTEST thing ANYBODY CAN DO. Its such an intimate move- even that time where he licked the bandage covering it- HOTTEST THING EVER. Especially since the scar is on his chest, it feels like hes kissing his soul, not just his scar- ITS SO ROMANTIC UGHHHH
