Okay so help me if I'm wrong.
I think the “luminosity” is one of the “rulers” (angel looking guys from the flashback Jin-Woo saw) or is THE Ruler.
“The Rulers” are fighting “The Monarchs” (Ice Elf) right? And “The System” was made to find vessels for the monarchs, but Jin-Woo killed the system and retained his identity and consciousness.
So now he doesn’t have to choose a side he can do what he wants but still gets all the power he would’ve had if he had been taken over by the original Shadow Monarch. (Also seen in flashback)

The author said she tried to express more of the romance in this volume but, i was never reading any of this as romantic. Like, the two MC’s are both pretty mentally unstable. And their environment has clearly lead them even further away from reality. I don’t really see either of them being capable of experiencing anything but a very twisted form of “love”. (If you could even call it that). The story is great I just wouldn’t classify it as a romance/love story.
