The gist of it is that Misumi (the old man that yashiro used to sleep with) is something like a father figure to both Yashiro and Hirata. But since Yashiro is better at his job + Misumi slept with him so he likes him better, Misumi plans to pass his position to Yashiro after he retires. And of course, Hirata is pissed (since a very long time ago). To get money, Hirata made Ryuuzaki sell drugs and plans to take the money for himself. And since Misumi is not passing his seat to Hirata, Hirata wants to join another group, the Gouda, a branch of Sanwakai. So once he gets in, Hirata will offer up the money earned from the drugs to the Gouda, and the Gouda will pass the money to the head branch. It's quite a huge some of money so when the head branch gets it, the Gouda will become in direct line of the head branch. And consequently Hirata will be given his own branch in the Sanwakai. He then plans to cut off ties with the Doushinkai group (the one Yashiro is in) by playing the disappearing act, and even if the Doushinkai finds him they can't do much as Hirata will be in direct contact with the higher ups in the Sanwakai.
Basically Hirata's angry that Misumi chooses Yashiro over himself, planned to kill Yashiro using Ryuuzaki's hands, but didn't know that Ryuuzaki loves Yashiro and purposely missed his vitals, nor predicted the extent of Yashiro's intellect. So yesh, Hirata is screwed. There you have it! Hope this help (^ ^)/
