It has happy ending, but it was a painful journey. So they agreed to keep their secrets to each other. Also, it was implied that Yohan is treated badly by his family. Jun pitites him. Jun occasionally hangs out at Yohan's house, but one day he found out that Yohan's family was eating dinner without Yohan, and Jun went downstairs and asked if he could join them for dinner, and they agreed. Naturally, Yohan had to join too but it was super awkward and it was obvious Yohan didn't wanna be there, but he sat and ate anyway. But after dinner, Yohan attacked Jun in his room, asking "Did you have fun!?" as in, did Jun have fun embarrassing him in front of his family? Because obviously he wasn't welcome at the table. In Jun's defense, he didn't want Yohan to go hungry. Yohan bit Jun in the neck, ripped open his clothes and almost assaulted him. Jun ran, fell and his arm was fractured but he escaped. Ever since then, Yohan and him didn't speak to each other. It was sad because Jun had to go through several bullying after the fall out, and Yohan ignored him. There was also this one scene where Yohan humiliated Jun, asking in front of everyone in the classroom, "Jun, why aren't you having lunch these days?" knowing damn well Jun was ostracised and had no one to eat with. Jun answered, "I told you I have to study during lunch time." which is a lie, because they haven't talked to each other. Jun said that to save face in front of everyone. Yohan laughed and said, "What? I don't remember you telling me that. Are you sure you're not just making that up?" It was humiliating for Kang Jun because Yohan just had to announce to everyone that the top student Kang Jun is now an outcast without him. Also, Jun had to take his exams with his right hand broken, and then his shoes got taken away and he stepped on glass, and a lot more. It was sad because Jun didn't have anyone with him.

This is gonna long, so bear with me!!
One day, Jun went to search for his missing shoes, but then a bully saw him and asked him to come to him. Jun didn't obey and they got into a fight. That bully hit Jun several times, and Jun cried because even at times like that, all he could think about was Yohan, but he knew Yohan wasn't gonna come save him. But then, he remembered that Yohan taught him how to fight. So he used what Yohan had taught him to take down that bully (the bully ended up with a broken nose lmao) and Jun was also hospitalised, I think he passed out. Thankfully the PE teacher saw what happened and put a stop to the fight. Then, when Jun woke up at the hospital, he saw Yohan in the room, sleeping at the couch. They talked for a bit and Yohan was proud of Jun for taking down that bully. Jun said something, I think he told Yohan off and Yohan stormed out and never visited anymore. Fast forward, one day, Yohan met Jun near his house, and he asked Jun to make up with him. Jun really didn't want to, because he was hurt after what Yohan did (humiliating him, ignoring him even after he saw their classmate kicking a ball in Jun's face ) plus, Jun felt as if Yohan is a dangerous guy. So he told Yohan they didn't have to be friends anymore, they can just forget about everything but not be friends anymore. Yohan was pissed, and he said something along the line of, "Let's just make up. My father's been asking about you, about why you haven't been coming over anymore. It's a pain. Ha, hey, you seem to be a really good son, why don't you teach me a thing or two?" here, Yohan is implying that his father likes Jun more than him. And he also told Jun, "Now, when I look at you, I lost all the feelings I had for you." I don't exactly remember how they made up, but Jun chose to make up with Yohan, although he wasn't as enthusiastic anymore with Yohan. When Yohan spoke to him, he'd just nod, or respond with "Is that so?" or "Yeah, that's nice." Fast forward again, one day, Jun's mom come back to Korea and he brought Jun to Yohan's house to talk to his mom regarding university stuff. While Jun's mom and Yohan's mom talked, Jun went to the toilet and he ran into Go Yohan's sister, Rosa. He talked to her and found out that Yohan was not treated badly, and that he was the most spoiled out of his siblings. Rosa also said that Yohan was the one who came out to his family about being gay. She said, "During Christmas, when our family were praying for good health and safety, he asked for a boyfriend!" Jun felt kind of betrayed because things fell off with Yohan because of that night where they had dinner, because he tried to make Yohan be with his family. In a way, Jun felt foolish because he was pitying Yohan, thinking he was an abandoned child but Rosa dropped the truth and it wasn't what he had thought.
Moving on, there is this one delinquent who wanted to take Yohan down, I think his name is Kim Minho. Minho actually guessed that Yohan likes Jun, and wanted to use that to take down Yohan, so he asked Jun to bring Yohan to the music room and confess to Yohan, and when Yohan gets flustered and all, Jun would reveal that it was a lie (little did minho know Jun likes Yohan for real) and Minho would hide behind the curtains to record and maybe spread the video around to embarrass Yohan. Jun didn't have much choice because Minho blackmailed him. So, Jun brought Yohan to the music room, but instead of doing what Minho told him to do, he told Yohan what Minho asked him to do, and he revealed that Minho was hiding behind the curtains. Yohan beat Minho up, and told Jun to run. Next day, a rumor circulated that Minho and another guy (I think it's Park Seonkyung something?) were kissing in the music room. There was also a picture going around. Jun knew right away it was Yohan's doing. Minho got expelled if I'm not mistaken, and Jun didn't come to school and didn't answer Yohan's calls and texts. then, came graduation. Jun didn't go intto the hall, he only stood outside, but then Yohan turned and saw him. Jun ran, and Yohan chased after him. Jun hid in a classroom and Yohan found him, and he held Jun's legs and lowered his head while muttering, "Thank you, thank you, thank you." (It was later revealed that Yohan had prayed everyday to meet Jun, so that was why he reacted like this). Jun shoved Yohan, and saw his pitiful face, and Jun said, "Well, maybe a kiss would fix things." so he kissed Yohan, and left. Left for America where his parents were. He hastily left the same day.
They met again in University, because Jun was accepted into a University in Korea. He chose to stay in the dormitory and guess who his roommate was? Yohan! Jun still was avoidant of Yohan, until one day, Minho came back to hunt for Jun. He tried to pour acid on Jun's face but Yohan came to the rescue and took the blow. His back was injured terribly, and his right hand was affected (the nerves were damaged so his hand would tremble). Jun brought him to the hospital, and accompanied him, and even fed him because Yohan's hand was trembling (it was revealed in later chapters that they did the deed at the hospital too). So yeah, they made up thanks to Minho (?) But Jun did clarify that throughout all the shit, he actually never stopped liking Yohan, so I'd like to think that he didn't choose to end up with Yohan because he was thankful that Yohan saved him.
The novel ended with Jun and Yohan eating together at a restaurant, where Yohan teased Jun, and with Jun's monologue saying, "I couldn't help but laugh even though his teasing wasn't funny. Was it funny? I guess it was, but maybe because I liked Go Yohan."
