I read a spoiler that said that from all the children the second son wanted to meet his mom the most. He had even cried when he learned his eldest brother had met him and begged to be told about him. I honestly haven't heard a good reason why the other children weren't born. Some say his kids are going to be shared between him and Raphael but that seems cruel and from a pic I saw, that didn't seem to be the case.
As for why he doesn't want to see the baby, he is mixing up memories from this life and the last. He is now thinking he is in his passed life ( hence why he doesn't to not be abandoned in the cabin and why he frowned when the ml said he played chess) he currently thinks the baby will be taken away from him. He doesn't want to see him and have to feel the heart break when he is torn away from him again.
