The beginning of the series was so interesting, but the smut unfortunately brings it down (cause it's mostly dubcon through power play/dynamics, which I'll talk about later ☆). Their chemistry just doesn't show for me, but when they talk normally and have anything aside from sex, their dynamic is really fun to read. I'll keep reading because I see the author's artworks of them and I have faith she knows what she's doing. Basically, sex chemistry, eh, but their dynamic when they're not doing it, yeh
(☆) When the series first began, their foreplay was so good to read. The build up was fun because we got to see an active push and pull from Rian and Enzo. However, right now it's not as fun to read when they actually have sex because it's obvious who has the power (Enzo). I understand it fits his character because he's from the mafia, detached from morality, and is a MEGA sadist, but it still doesn't make their scenes as enjoyable to read as I thought it'd be (personally).
Right now, the only way to bring it up is through Enzo changing and some power being given back to Rian. So, yeah that's the end of my rant (;^ω^)
Ban is literally such a cutieeee
I'm a sucker for action and futuristic settings so this is like a huge win for me. I'm really interested in learning more about Ban and the ML, especially their pasts.
Personally, I'm pretty interested to see where the story goes. It's clear power dynamics play an important part, especially with Ray and Ban since Ray is not only a cop, but he's also older and def groomed Ban. It'll be interesting to see Ban unlearn Ray's effects and grow as a character with the ML by his side (if that's the direction the story takes). Overall, I have high hopes and Ik the author won't disappoint because Driver's High was really good!!
Personally, I love Dohu chasing Juheon. Like yeah, he messed up and is facing the consequences of his actions, he deserves to chase! As for Juheon, there’s definitely a bigger reason as to why he’s rejecting Dohu, and it probably has more to do with his aunt than not wanting anything to do with Dohu (it’s still a big part of that tho).
Dohu wants Juheon back or at least wants something between them that doesn’t involve Juheon rejecting his existence, so he’s going to persist because that’s just who he is. When Dohu focuses on something or someone, he doesn’t stop (he’s so direct, I personally love that). I can’t wait to see more of them and how the bully (Jitae or wtv his name was) plays a part in probably getting Juheon to open up more and give Dohu the full picture as to why he’s avoiding him (Cause there’s obv a bigger reason that Dohu isn’t aware of)

This chapter gen hurts so much, but the distance is definitely/probably necessary. Ban definitely needed to be confronted even though he already knew everything deep down, and I think Shinwi wanting out of Ban's life probably means he's letting him go so Ban could figure himself out. Ofc, it's also prolly because
1. He doesn’t understand his feelings (yet)
2. He knows that if he's going to continue hurting/stressing over Ban then it's better to let him go
3. Ban said he'd rather have everyone leave him alone (which he probably said out of an outburst, but it still could be true)
Honestly, I was hoping Shinwi would help him, but I understand that the more mature thing is to let Ban help himself since he's a lot more aware of everything than Shinwi assumed. Can't wait to see what else the author has planned :3c
Also, after chapter 17, the author said we're halfway through season 1, so it should conclude around maybe chap 35 to 36. Somewhere in that range
