Even so, the duke doesn't seem to try to keep it a secret that he's close with OG!Heroine, at least in WMMAP they tried to cover it up at the beginning with saying he was dead long time ago. I'm sure the Emperor has enough resources to know if someone is plotting against him. Or maybe I just need some sleep.
With this kind of plot, It would be like the story f Suddenly Became a Princess. Don't misunderstand me I'm not comparing.
