The fact that a few weeks of kindness from a man she saw smashed her mother’s head subconsciously stayed with her is so telling that she probably went thru a lot growing up. That so very few people showed her kindness. Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to visit Mr. Zanuff again because she prob kept doubting herself as people around her kept telling her that her memories were wrong, that she should hate her mother’s killer but it was confirmed with the drawing that the kindness she was shown wasn’t a form of manipulation or brainwashing. I feel like that drawing finally confirmed to her that her memories were correct.
