Stories like these are why I love manga so much. There’s something so deeply profound in the simplicity of this story. This mangaka’s writing and art style feels like a warm hug, and I find my eyes watery and throat closing up at a lot of the conversations Takeda and Arita have. I love how the mangaka also highlights how people always try to label and/or place people in a box, despite even not knowing them. And I found that even I too was instinctively putting a label on the relationship between Takeda and Arita. I do know that what they have for one another is love, but whether thats platonic or romantic is not for me to decide.
I don’t get why this and Maid sama are so popular…why are they trying to make sexual harassment and assault romantic or comedic?? This does not need to be normalized like that, especially since young girls are reading this. Maybe if I read this when I was younger I wouldn’t bat an eye, but my frontal lobe is more developed and I can’t stand ts.

My comment was not on bashing uncomfortable topics, I'm all for that. However i don't like them being turned into something comedic, thats all i was saying. There’s a difference on these topics being used in a meaningful way, vs. not.
Oh yeah 100% I get u!! U explained it perfectly because I do agree with u that there’s a way to make it meaningful or not, however it just seems like it’s a thread with older shoujo works (and some recent ones too!) with how they deal with uncomfortable topics / situations is undermined by comedy, but I guess it’s something only the author knows why they done it that way
