i don't ship either, but i can tell you why they do;

I have been observing the yaoi fandom in their natural habitat for so long that i have become like them in order to learn their secrets. I have infiltrated the very core of their power, (this website) and am now operating on the inside. I can tell you this much: these people have a ravenous, unquenchable thirst for pushing two people together even though there is not even an ounce of romantic potential. its as though they are eternally chasing some kind of tease-driven high. Many years of research has been devoted to finding an answer, or even a cure, but alas, my efforts are fruitless.

If you have any underground information about the yaoi fandom, please contact me. though I too have been infected with the virus, and will not be sane much longer. soon, gay thoughts will take over, and be the only thing in my head.

I think there are many explanations for why people ship these type of pairings... but understanding it would require expertice in psychology, cultural ideas, sociology and an investigation to prove the different theories... In my case, I don't ship this couple... I think both of them have mental, affective and emotional problems and have become from victims to psychopaths or murder... BUT I do like the manga for the horror and the plot that is very well written and terrifying.

So... maybe other prople like this as an horror/psychological genre (+ the drawing) and not necessarily for the "romance"...

I love this comment. Someone who can appreciate yaoi and also aknowledge the insanity and obssessive nature or a big part (not all) of the fandom.
